Privacy Policy

Summary: wordpang does not collect or transmit any personal data. All data is stored only on the user's device.

1. Purpose

This policy explains how the operator of the wordpang app (the "App") handles user data. It is written in line with the spirit of Korea's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Personal Data We Collect

The operator does not collect any personal data.

  • No identifying information (name, email, phone)
  • No location data
  • No data transmitted to any server
  • No analytics SDKs
  • No advertising SDKs
  • No account or login required

3. Data Stored On Your Device

The app stores the following data only on the user device. It is not transmitted off-device and cannot be used to identify an individual.

  • Game statistics (play count, win rate, streaks)
  • List of learned words
  • Review schedule (spaced repetition)
  • Earned achievement badges
  • Daily word mode progress
  • App settings and chosen difficulty

These items are stored in device-local storage; uninstalling the app permanently deletes all of them.

4. Network and Server Communication

wordpang runs fully offline. All features work without an internet connection, and the app does not communicate with any external server.

5. Third-Party Services

The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, social, payment, or error-tracking SDKs, and user data is not sold, shared, or transferred to third parties.

6. Advertising and In-App Purchases

The app does not display advertisements. The app does not offer in-app purchases.

7. Children’s Privacy

wordpang carries an App Store age rating of 4+ and is directed to children.

COPPA Compliance

Because the app collects no personal data, no parental consent obligation arises, and the app is in full compliance with COPPA.

Korean PIPA

PIPA Article 22(6) requires legal guardian consent when processing personal data of children under 14. As this app does not process personal data, that provision does not apply.

8. Your Rights

  • Deletion: uninstall the app to immediately remove all data
  • Access: view directly inside the app

9. Security

Because the app neither collects nor transmits personal data, there is no risk of data leakage in transit. On-device data is protected by the operating system’s default security mechanisms.

10. Changes to This Policy

When this policy changes, the operator will notify users through an app update and this page. Changes take effect on the stated effective date.

11. Chief Privacy Officer

In accordance with PIPA Article 31, the operator designates the following Chief Privacy Officer, who oversees personal-data handling and responds to user inquiries and complaints.

You may also report privacy concerns to Korea’s Privacy Infringement Report Center (privacy.kisa.or.kr, 118) or the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee (kopico.go.kr, +82-1833-6972).
